The Town of West Boylston has recently undertaken an effort to conduct a
comprehensive review of our sidewalk infrastructure. Under review was an
analysis of the current sidewalks in town. This project was undertaken by
the members of the Transportation committee who physically walked the
sidewalks in town and developed an analysis of the sidewalk infrastructure.
The next step in this citizen-initiative is a public hearing on June 26th at
7:00 p.m. at the Town's municipal offices at 127 Hartwell Street where we
expect to make a presentation on our findings and to accept testimony from
the citizens, boards, and staff of the Town on how we should establish
sidewalk priorities for the Town, whether repairing existing sidewalks or
creating new sidewalks where none currently exist.
Attached please find a copy of the agenda for the upcoming public hearing as
well as the map detailing our existing sidewalk conditions. This is an
important effort for West Boylston and we are inviting you and your boards
and committees to attend to provide input into the plan. Our goal is to
prepare a Master Plan to recommend to the Selectmen to use Chapter 90 funds
over the next several years to meet our goal of better sidewalks in town.
We would like to see you there for this event.
