The last several days have been very exciting for the Town especially with regards to the Town’s Bicentennial Celebration. First, I am happy to report that the Bicentennial Committee and Historical Committee invited me to attend a trip to the Statehouse in Boston on March 5th to meet with Governor Patrick, Sen. Chandler and Rep. O’Day as the Town was presented an official Governor’s citation Proclaiming West Boylston Day in Massachusetts. We got our picture taken with the Governor and had a beautiful tour of the Statehouse.
Here is a picture of the students who won the Bicentennial essay contest this year. They are standing in the House Chambers with Sen. Chandler and Rep. O’Day. I would like to thank Selectman Rucho for this great photo and additional photos and information can be found at www.wb200.com.
This past Friday was the Bicentennial Black & White Ball at the Wachusett Country Club. The event was absolutely fabulous, the food was terrific and it appeared that everyone had a great time, including me. The organizers of the event deserve praise and congratulations.
Please review the Bicentennial Committee’s website (www.wb200.com) for information about more events during our yearlong celebration.
