I wanted to take this opportunity to update the residents of the Town on two things of importance:
1) The FY09 Budget Message has been completed and will soon be posted on the Town's webpage under the Town Administrator's section. The Budget Message is a report to the Town on our revenues and proposed expenditures. It also explains the outstanding issues facing the Town. I know I have sent out sections of this document already so the format is probably familiar to you.
2) The folks who run our public access channel (which runs our Selectmen's tapings) are looking for the comments from the Townspeople about their feelings on the Selectmen's meetings. Specifically, they are seeking public comments on whether or not the people of the Town prefer to see the Selectmen's Meetings live or if tape delay is alright with them. Since we abandoned the Mixter Building, we have found it difficult to broadcast live from the new location. We have been recording the Selectmen's Meetings and rebroadcasting them and few people have expressed displeasure about that situation with the Town Administrator. The fix for this problem could cost the Cable Committee about $15,000 so before we authorized this upgrade we wanted to gauge the people feelings about this
