The West Boylston Cultural Council is seeking new members who want a great opportunity to be a positive force in the local and regional cultural scene. The council specifically needs individuals with some internet and computer skills. Individuals with an interest or background in the arts, humanities or interpretive sciences are encouraged to join. All new members are required to take an online training, and the council meets several times a year to solicit and review grant proposals, and to award funds.
The West Boylston Cultural Council is part of the Local Cultural Council Program (LCC) that is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency that promotes excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences to improve and contribute to the economic vitality of our communities. MCC receives an annual appropriation from the MA State Legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts, and others. In turn, MCC makes thousands of grants directly to the non-profit LCC Program which is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, humanities, and sciences annually.
