November 5, 2010: A group of volunteers recently completed the rebuilding of half of the seats and footrests at the all-purpose field bleachers. They also added a new set of stairs and handrails up the middle of the bleachers. They removed the old wooden seats and footrests and replaced them with aluminum planks. This eliminates the constant maintenance and replacement of the old wooden seats. The group hopes to finish the other half of the bleachers in the spring, dependant on available funding. Pictured above are (from left to right) Scott Bostek, Steven McCarthy, Steve Blake (Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Committee), and Joe Bostek. The other volunteer was Bryan Fancy who was not available when the picture was taken. The DPW assisted the group; however, the majority of the work was
completed by them. We are grateful for their generosity and desire to make a difference.
