NOTE: All properties in the sewer district must be connected to the sewer system, or have filed ALL sewer connection forms and necessary plumbing permits by December 31, 2006. All connection work must be completed by June 30, 2007. Failure to meet these requirements may result in action by the board.
Board of Health
The mission of the Board of Health is to provide for the health and welfare of the residents of West Boylston by enforcement of State Regulations and Codes.
The Board of Health is made up of 5 residents, appointed by the Town Administrator for 3-year terms. The Board of Health is a statutory board, which gets its authority under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 111.
Among our many activities are:

Monitor air and water quality - working with other state and town agencies |

Inspect food and milk retailers |

Enforce State Sanitary Code for housing violations |
• |
Respond to nuisance complaints |
• |
Inspect restaurants, retail store and workplace for compliance with Regulation for the Sale of Tabacco Products to Minors and the Massachusetts Smoke-free Workplace Law. |

Enforce Title 5 Regulations with regard to property transfers, new installations and repair of septic systems. |
Creation
Town meeting of March 23, 1891, under Article 16, authorized the election of a three-member Board of Health. Chapter 23 of the Acts of 1995 changed the Board from elected to appointed. At that time, the Board was expanded from three to five members.
