Board of Selectmen Set Town Goals & Objectives for 2007

2006-2007 Town Goals & Objectives

At the Selectmen's Meeting of November 29, 2006, the Board of Selectmen approved the following Town Goals and Objectives for 2007.

Administrative Goals:

1.	Guide transition to a full-time building inspector position
2.	Administer a modified compensation plan for town employees
3.	Conduct ethics seminar for boards and employees
4.	Clean up old Selectmen minutes not yet prepared
5.	Work on establishing policies and procedures for the Board of Selectmen with the Policy Review Committee
6.	Expand procurement officer training to the DPW
7.	Direct Open Space Committee to update the Open Space Plan
8.	Establish policy of notifying ConCom when protected land is being considered for removal
9.	Develop policy for new growth monies
10.	Develop employee and volunteer recognition program
11.	Work with Town Clerk on record retention/storage plan
12.	Report to Board on continued use of FAA
13.	Work to increase public access utilization

Health & Safety:

14.	Bring town into compliance with NIMS Year Two requirements
15.	Develop a COOP Plan
16.	Develop a succession plan for town government
17.	Begin comprehensive review of the Town’s emergency management plan
18.	Develop wellness program for employees and citizens
19.	Develop disability disaster evacuation plan
20.	Promote and organize the Citizens Police Academy

Public Works:

21.	Expand recycling program in the Town
22.	Develop restructuring plan for the DPW
23.	Draft and implement a stormwater management bylaw
24.	Develop plan to improve and construct sidewalks

Special Projects:

25.	Finalize bid and negotiate Tivnan Drive project
26.	Finalize cable contract renegotiation
27.	Work with BoS/Municipal Building Committee on building development
28.	Explore new options to deal with rising health insurance costs
29	Report on and expand the paperless system
