Laurel Street Composting Site Re-Opened!
The Laurel Street Composting Site, which was closed earlier this year, has been re-opened. The site had been closed due to the Asian Longhorned Beetle infestation in parts of West Boylston, however, now that the Regulated Area to Suppress and Control the Asian Longhorned Beetle has been enlarged to include the entire town, the site has been re-opened. The temporary site, on Shrewsbury Street, will no longer be used.
The Laurel Street Composting Site will be open on October 13, 2009. Please see the DPW Leaf & Yard Waste page for information on obtaining a resident sticker and the schedule for the site.
Notice: Per the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, residents are prohibited from removing natural wood materials (e.g., twigs, branches, trunks, logs and stumps) from the ALB regulated area regardless of whether or not the materials are infested. Please dispose of your materials within town. For more information on the Asian Longhorned Beetle, please click here.
