TO ALL PROPERTY OWNERS
Maintaining accurate information about the residential and commercial properties that make up our local tax base is important in fairly distributing the Town of West Boylston's property tax burden. In order to meet our obligation of fair and equitable taxation, the Board of Assessors Office is undertaking a program to verify the property data used to estimate property tax assessments.
Beginning May 7th and over the next several months a representative of the Assessors Office will be conducting on-site inspections of properties in Town. When an inspector reaches your home or commercial building the inspector will introduce herself/himself, conduct an exterior inspection, and ask you questions about the interior. If necessary the inspector may ask for permission to conduct an interior inspection. In no case will the inspector enter a home uninvited and without being accompanied by an adult resident. The inspection should take no longer than 10 minutes. If you are not available when the inspector comes to your door, she/he will leave a card and questionnaire. Please complete the questionnaire and return it to our office at your earliest convenience.
