FREE Electronic Equipment Collections For Recycling
Households, Businesses, Schools, Non-profits & Government Agencies
The City of Worcester and Metech Recycling are sponsoring free recycling of used electronics this spring. All programs are regional in nature and available to West Boylston residents and businesses.
All collected equipment will be responsibly recycled. All hard drives and similar memory devices will be physically destroyed. No equipment will be resold and no materials will be sent to a land fill. These events are being sponsored by a major electronics manufacturer.
In both 2007 and 2008, Metech collected over 200,000 pounds of electronic equipment at the one-day events and an additional 80,000 pounds from schools and organizations in the area. All of this was recycled for material content.
Items accepted: computers, monitors, televisions, LCD panels, printers, other computer related equipment, stereos, cell and other phones, power supplies, electronic games, VCRs, circuit boards and other household electronics. Hard drives and other memory devices are physically destroyed!
Items not accepted: Air conditioners, dehumidifiers, microwaves and white goods such as washers, dryers, stover and refrigerators.
